NO ELECTRICITY

We are on our third or fourth day with no electricity, it does come on at night! I was a good sport at first, but now I am SICK of it. They are installing light poles on the road here, so I guess that is good, but I wish they were done already!

I love electricity... if I were a poet, I'd write a poem about all of it's great wonders. I am so thankful every night at 6 when it clicks back on and we are bathed in fake light again, when the TV come on, the music, my laundry machine, vacuum (my dark green carpet cannot go a day with out it!)the stove, coffee pot.... oh the things electricity can do!

So I'm sitting here on battery power clicking away, but soon I will need to turn it off and do something else. Which is probably good, I guess.

Sorry you have no electricity! I can't imagine my life without it. We moved to a different location at work and I don't have internet and I have to share a line with someone else. It sucks. It is really strange because I can't do my work without my computer and no internet. Modern technology is just a way of life and it's hard when we don't have it. Blah Blah Blah
Sorry, I was rambling. I hope you get electricity consistently soon!
Love you

2006 was our year without electricity--almost every day from 7am to 7pm, because the entire country was rationing. It was absolutely awful. Thankfully that was before children for us, so I would spend as little time at home as possible.

Becca,
So sorry to hear about your lack of power juice. That really drains the ease out of life! My question is---once they get the street lights up--will there be electricity for them to run on????? Do you guys have a generator--what happens to your fridge all day long? I'm stressed out about it and I am not even there to experience your pain in person! ( Of course, food is my BIG concern!)
I love you guys and hope life gets easier soon!

I am sitting here in a lit house and enjoying all my machines again.

I don't know how you did it for a year Amy... I would go coo-coo and I would get some solar panels!! :)

Kerri- I just keep the fridge closed and things stay fine until the power comes on again at night. It is stressful though.

Shauna- ya and my modem is battery powered too so I have about an hours of internet time before it runs out.

I have a little camp stove I cook on for the days when there is no power. One pot meals mostly! :)I did make a chili relleno casserole in my dutch oven pan with those chilies. It worked great- YUM!

This makes me realize my need to thank God for electricity. I take it for granted!
