Off and running

We are driving to Santa Clarita today. We have been staying over on some Saturday nights to meet with friends and supporters. This weekend Peter is speaking at Faith Community Church. He is giving the sermon and has done such a great job preparing!

Preschool continues to go well for Weston. He is really enjoying his teacher and showing a lot more interest in letters and sounds. He is even beginning to write and color with more skill.

Sierra had her ears checked this week. The audiologist said her hearing is good and the Ear Nose and Throat doctor referred us to a speech therapist. So that is good news.

Things in Mongolia continue to go well. Terri is feeling fine and her pregnancy is doing good. The long winter continues there.... the coldest time of the year is done now, but the thaw won't come until April!

I am starting to feel ready to go back, which is a big praise. I have been LOVING being in America and I still am, but realize there is so much more work for us to do in Mongolia. I am gearing up for that in my mind.

I heard a great message at our church on Sunday about the call to missions. It was truly an encouragement and a call for me to continue on and not grow weary of doing good. It was a time to recommit myself to the God's heart for the nations and to submit in obedience once again to reach the ends of the Earth.

Listen in a faithcommunitychurch.com click on messages and then the 2/8 sermon by Brad Buser--- you will not be disappointed. He was a missionary for 20 years in Papu New Guinea. He followed the call to bring the word of God to the unreached, even to the point to death. He was so transparent about the call being one of obedience and not a mysterious hand writing on the wall to go. He showed how God's call to go the nations started in Genesis with Abraham and continues throughout the rest of the Bible all the way to Revelations 5. He was so real and raw at some points and I so appreciated his description of the mission that God has for each of us.

Listen, you will not be bored... he challenges the listener in so many great ways.

Happy Valentine's Day

We have enjoyed our day so far. We had waffles, fresh oj, coffee, fruit salad, soft boiled eggs and sausage for breakfast. Then we exchanged Valentine gifts. The children got candy, socks (how exciting!), a sand pail and shovel, and of course CANDY. I got 54 small red roses from Peter and a great card. He got candies and a razor... can you tell I am a practical gift giver... so romantic! I did give him a really nice card too!!!

Weston has been thanking God for Valentine's Day every day for a week. He enjoyed his conversation hearts and chocolate. Now they are outside hopefully running off their sugary breakfast!

We are hoping for a great day. We have a birthday party today at a bouncy house land! Weston was invited after his first day of preschool! It has been fun being part of a school community!

Have a great day!

Funny thing weston just said

I just got him dressed and then he ran to the door and said, "Now all I need is my crusty Sierra. We'll get our shoes on and leave."

I think he meant, "All I need is my trusty Sierra!"
Cute huh?
