Rubbish!

Garbage, trash, "hock"... I'm weird, here is proof!

I ran outside yesterday, it was 75 degrees and a very inviting day for a run! I ran out to the edge of the houses, to the end of civilization! What does one find as they step to the edge of the tundra? Trash! There is no trash service here so people dump trash out there.

Coming from curious dumpster diving background, I am always interested. It made for interesting running. Last year in Thailand, I discovered one can judge the wealth of a place by its garbage. I was walking in Chaing Mai, Thailand last year and I was stopped in my tracks, there were usable items in the trash there. Having only seen Mongolian trash for a year or two, I was truly shocked.

Here there is not a shred of usable goods out there... just broken plastic stuff, broken glass, completely used and dead shoes, plastic bags, and lots of bones and animal horns!

We burn up our garbage in a big metal barrel in our front yard, then we shovel it into a small fenced area. When that fills up we hire a horse cart to haul it away to join all the other useless stuff out there.

OK--- RANDOM thoughts today. Bye :)

dad would be so very proud! I too inherited the dumpster diving gene. It truly freaks John out!
