It was W's birthday the other day. We had a birthday cake breakfast and a cookout at the river. We had a blue Bob the Builder cake like he requested.
Then we went to the river. The kids swam and ate smores and it was so fun. We love going down to the water we were joking around that we should build a little summer shack down there, because it is pretty hot in the summer! I don't think so, but maybe next time we'll bring our tent!
We found a great spot with a nice beach area that is very secluded. We found stork tracks as big as my hand and saw and heard lots of summer birds. It is good to get away from the house and see some nature. W. likes to act like he is fishing and puts a long stick into the river!

What a good idea! Bringing a tent would offer some much-needed shade/shelter and if zipped up, would keep the huge bugs away too, while you could still enjoy the river! I'm glad W's 4th b-day was fun! Thanks for calling us...even though the connection wasn't great!
