Remembering Grandma

Today I remember Grandma and Grandpa Smith.

Peter's grandparents loved me right away and always made me feel like family. Today is the day that grandma passed away five years ago and she is truly missed.

I'm thankful to have known her and benefited from her gentle and quiet spirit. Such kindness and care for others is rare and I am truly thankful for it.

This is a picture of a picture in my wedding scrapbook. This was Peter and my first dance and all of our parents and grandparents joined us. Their legacy of faithful marriage, then 50 years, is such a great gift. It is such a special memory to me.

I am fortunate to remember them often since we have the gift of living in their home, sitting at their table, and even eating with their silverware.

I'm still waiting for her baking genius to wear off on me from her rolling pin and cake pans. :) Thank you for this gift grandma, grandpa, Kerri, Lee and Laurie. We are truly grateful.

Today I trimmed their roses and remembered their wonderful lives and the gift of their love.
