Now that we are settled in with job, home and town we are focusing more closely on our budget. Peter and I have the opportunity to take Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace Academy together at church. It's a four month class designed to revamp spending, increase saving and be intentional with money. His tag line, "If you will live like no one else, later you can live like no one else!"
Today is Peter's day off. We read the chapters, did the budget and made decisions. Thankfully things are good for us financially, thank you Jesus! I was reminded that budgeting is shocking and it's no fun. There is always something "prudent" to be done and after all the good choices the "fun" money is gone or very limited.
You know what's shocking, that if you do it the "right" way- first we save emergency fund and work to pay off debt. Then we focus on a retirement and car fund, then college and house pay off.....
Did you know that I want to take my children out of school someday and go on an African safari, maybe some train trips through Europe and finishing with the Siberian Rail back down to Sukhbaatar. You know, just a little trip! LOL But mostly the safari is my goal... How great would it be to take the kids on a major trip?
However, there is room for regular vacations, entertainment, Christmas gifts and such, so we are BLESSED. I am so thankful! SO SO THANKFUL!
You know where those safari dreams really come true? Heaven. Can you imagine the safari there in heaven- no lions trying to eat you, no poop, no disease, no pain, no jetlag... ya maybe that's the best time after all!

There might be poop, but it probably won't smell bad. I could cuddle up to a purry lion!
YES!!!!!! African Safari is a GREAT idea!
I knew you'd like that Amy! :) I think I know some people in that neck of the woods ;)
I love the adventurous part of you, Becca! I love that you're not afraid to do wild and fun things. The closest your friend Tiffany will get to an African safari is The Wild Animal Park in San Diego.:):) xoxox!
