Gone

Well it’s all gone. I was thinking of having a sale, but I knew Peter didn’t want to, so tonight when our final group of friends came over, marched them around and gave almost everything away- cupboards, dressers, pots and pans, stove, shelves, couches, chairs, most of my clothes.

All that is left unaccounted for is a hot plate, a small table, one folding chair, a couple towels, blankets for each of us, dishes and a couple of pans. J

On Thursday, a large truck will come and empty the house. We’ll sleep on mats in the big room. We’ll have a slumber party all together. We’ll put up balloons and have a party just for us. We have popcorn left and a pan to cook it in and we’ll watch movies on this wonderful computer and eat candy and have a great time. It will be our last two nights in our house.

Then we will go on a picnic with friends on Saturday evening. On Sunday night we’ll leave on the train. And that will be it. We’ll lock the doors and hand over the keys and this portion of our lives will be over. Did you know this has been 9 years of our life? We have been planning to come here since 2002. 9 years of the ten we’ve been married… interesting. It is the end of an era for us.

And the beginning of another… which era will it be.
