We had a great week in Columbus without the kids at the EFCA conference. More observations to come...
the first?
We got on the plane and I thought to myself, "wow, there are a lot more young people flying alone these days." Then I noticed that they were a young married couple.
And by extrapolation of those observations I learned, I am old.
Ha ha... :)

dear weston and sierra
Hi babies, I miss you so much. I can't wait to see you tomorrow.
Weston I miss your energy and your great ideas. You are such a creative boy and a smart thinker.
Sierra I miss your snuggles and your huge love for people. You are so friendly and always smiling.
I can't wait to give you both a big kiss because I love you as tall as the mountains and as deep as the ocean!!!
See you tomorrow.

Grace
A gift that we don't deserve but that God gives us. While we were YET STILL SINNERS, Christ died for us. WOW... That really makes me think. I always want to earn my way and do it myself.
After watching my kids grow and grandparents struggle, this tendency starts at around 14 months and never stops until we take our last breath. We want to earn it- to do it...
That is just the thing, God's economy is different. The wonder of His grace towards me, and the whole world, is so overwhelming. It's been hitting me like a ton of bricks, but yet with the weight of a feather and the comfort of a down jacket or a cozy fire on a cold day. He just gives it. Thank you Jesus!
Our life has been a picture of that recently... things that we want or need freely given.
GRACE:

Living here- in grandpa's house. It has four bedrooms and has been given to us rent free.

My Den...

My kids, their beds, clothes, dresser, toys...

Weston's birthday present- Tae Kwon Do lessons- he's a yellow belt now

I've always wanted one of these- garage sale $3! :)

King sized bed and inexpensive comforter set from Anna's Linens.

My kids time with family- notice their carseats were too small. I want them in a carseat until they're big- but that means $$$

But then I found the best carseats for them on Craig's list! $50 for Britax- good until 85 pounds!! We call them the thrones! They are huge. My bottom can fit in the seat- that's really saying something!

My garden- see the flowers? Tomatoes are on the way! LOVING CALIFORNIA!

Corn will definitely be knee high by fourth of July!

Did you know gardenia is one of my favorite smells? This is the first one of the year!!!

and look at all those buds.... soon this will be covered with sweet smelling flowers!
Grace all grace.

Out of it
I'm not sure I can continue writing now. I have things to write about, but this is my Tundra Mom blog and I am not in the Tundra.
Our lives are going well and I am thankful. Sierra is saying a couple of new words. Weston is continuing with home school. We are attending a church in this area called Pathway. I love the weather in California.
But that is about all I can muster to write--- not very exciting.
I think I may have to shut down this blog for awhile.

Peter's Birthday
We had a smallish celebration today. I hung up streamers last night and then went to bed. I made cupcakes this morning for breakfast and went out to get him some Starbucks coffee.
Then we ate and ran out to John's graduation. It was so fun to sit with family and honor John for his accomplishment!
I also spent the morning clapping for 28 strangers that had received their doctorate degrees. Did you know that Peter enrolled in a Educational Doctorate program through Liberty University this week? Seeing these people finishing their doctorate degrees and John finish his Masters Degree, made me realize what a huge job Peter has ahead! You can do it Peter!!!
We had been planning on Peter beginning his education again, but from Mongolia. After thinking about it, we decided to continue with this plan from here in California. So here we go!
Happy Birthday my love! I am blessed to be your wife and I'm so proud of you.

Biggest Loser
I'm sure you've seen it. But I haven't. All I have to say is WOW! That was very amazing to watch the transformation of people. I can't believe they were losing 5-15 pounds in a week! Shocking.
We were inspired to go running this morning. The kids ran too, and then they rode in the stroller. (Thanks Shauna for the jogging stroller.)
Sierra's off to speech in a few minutes. I am homeschooling Weston. I found everything I needed at the library. I don't have his kindergarten things, but I found almost everything at the library! Amazing!
