This is so good. I am making it for the second time in a week. It is easy too. The sauce has a great flavor... we love it.
I made pita bread. It didn't make a pocket, so I used them for gyros. We ate them warm straight out of the oven (because it was 8pm by the time I got done!) They were so good.
Gyros in the Crockpot
Put in your beef (I use about 2 cups worth a small blob of meat- I am the meat rationer!!!) If you use more just up the next ingredients.
Add:
1/4 c water
1/4 c tomato paste
1/8-1/4 cup c flour
sprinkle in basil, rosemary, curry (optional),garlic, and 1/4 t salt.
Let cook until meat is tender. Then shred it up. Serve on gyro bread or in a pita. Top with chopped cucumbers, tomatoes and yogurt. (or lettuce and sour cream!)
